The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to read: TELECOMMUNICATIONS REGULATION MODERNIZATION; REPORT TO THE LEGISLATURE. The Regulatory Commission of Alaska shall, by February 19, 2019, (1) to the extent permitted by law, update its regulations to accommodate modern telecommunications systems and utilities; and (2) submit a written report to the legislature recommending statutory changes to accommodate modern telecommunications systems and utilities; the Regulatory Commission of Alaska shall deliver the report to the senate secretary and chief clerk of the house of representatives and notify the legislature that the report is available."
